We propose an enhancement to our system to improve and simplify the sales process for commission purposes. The enhancement should include the following capabilities:
Assign Salesperson by Product: Allow salesperson assignment to customers based on a product type that we’ve assigned in the item database. This means DDMS would automatically set the salesperson by item on the sales order. This is extremely important when you have sales specialists for product like JanSan, break room, contract furniture, etc. and you are trying to sell a broader range of product to your existing customer base.
Custom Commission Code by Product: Enable users to define a commission code for each product that differs from the default item department code. This allows us to separate general ledger from commission code. Commission structures and general ledger codes are not always the same.
I am voting for the general concept being requested. However we would likely need a different design as we would want to be able to "split" commissions by product category, allowing more than 1 person to be commissioned on the sale, but at different rates.
