The beginning of November update is HORRIBLE and NEEDS to be reverted back

This update has broken so many things and caused so many issues.

  1. The fact that you can't use the same email for accounts makes no sense. We have customers that need to use multiple accounts but only have one email and this completely messes that up and causes them to not be able to order properly

  2. Not being able enter customer's passwords and having to add an extra step is just plain annoying. We will have customers call at least a couple times a month saying that they cant log in, we check the logs and find they are using the wrong password, let them know the password and the issue is fixed. Not being able to do that will cause our customers to have to reset their passwords, sometimes multiple times a month. Plus we have a lot of customers that don't understand how to use some of the features, so we log in into their account and call them and help walk them through the issues.

  3. The 'strong password' is really not necessary, if a customer WANTS to have a very long password with all the extra characters in it then they can set it up that way, but if they don't want to then they should have the choice of that. Which will cause issue number 2 to happen even more since some people have trouble remembering a short password then how can they remember a long password.

  4. The fact that passwords NEED to be changed every 180 days, not only is really annoying and builds on issue 2 and 3, is also actually a BIGGER security risk to the customer and the hosts. There have been multiple studies that have happened and has proved that keeping your password the same and not changing it is MUCH safer, in comparison to passwords that NEED to be changed every X amount of days. Plus of the fact that if a hacker is trying to get into your account, it does NOT matter, AT ALL, on how long your password is or how often you change it or anything like that. If your computer has a virus any time you go into a site and change your password that allows the hacker to very easily steal your info and also any info of the host.

So this last update NEEDS to be reverted IMMEDIATELY, it has caused many issues with current customers, with signing up new customers, and also is making the customer's and the host's info at a much higher risk for security.

This type of setup with signing customers up was how the signup first started awhile back, EVERYONE hated it, so you changed it to where we could enter their password. So if everyone hated it back then, why would you think of bringing that back? that makes no sense.

    Terri,

We are reversing all the changes done around the strong password, including the email option. For redesign we are working with customers to make sure we can meet the needs and get as much feedback and customer scenarios covered as we can. There will most likely have to be compromises in the name of security. As another customer stated, we aren't handling plutonium! However, we still have to be compliant with security standards as we do have data sensitive to our customer and yours and we're all liable to keeping it secure.
