In the furniture department, probably 95+% of what we do are uncatalogued items. We use the copy+paste functionality VERY often to add product descriptions and finishes into order entry. If we didn't it would take us at least 5x as long to do everything and we would open ourselves up for typos and errors. I have never had problems doing this before the last 2 weeks. I've had 2 MAJOR issues the last two weeks when printing P.O.s or quotes. Most of the items in question are items that I've sold before, so I've copy+pasted them the exact same way in the past without issue. When I called customer support, the only thing they could offer was - well, DDMS isn't really set up to support copy+paste. While I'm not sure that this is actually what was wrong based on my past experience, there NEEDS to be the ability to copy+paste without issues.
Are you wanting to copy from an already invoiced item to a new ticket? You are able to copy & paste in the Line Item comment area. You should be able to copy from your specking program to that line item area.
i was told to use copy/paste in DDMS graphical by ECI so it seems weird that now they are saying you shouldn't, this is news to me as well as we use copy/paste all over DDMSPLUS graphical; customer database, order entry, PO entry etc...
